Hijama
What is Hijama? (also called cupping) is derived from the word 'Hajm' which means 'suck'.

Cupping involves placing a glass or plastic cup on specific points on the skin and creating a vacuum. As a result, meridians are cleared of stagnations, a strong blood flow is achieved locally and it therefore also offers a considerable number of health benefits.
This fantastic technique was already used by the ancient Egyptians, the Greeks and in the Far East.
What are the benefits of Hijama?
Hijama therapy cleanses the body of acidic and toxic substances (blood stasis) and prevents these substances from multiplying as we age.

These toxins have quite a few negative effects on our health; thus it slows or blocks the supply of all kinds of important things (such as oxygen, nutrients and minerals) and also prevents the removal of carbon dioxide, waste products and toxic substances.
How does Hijama work?
There are 2 hijama or cupping techniques that can be applied with us, depending on the complaints:
Wet cupping (hijama)
This method of cupping falls under the Sunnah of our Prophet PBUH. A plastic cup is placed at a specific place, depending on the complaint, and a vacuum is drawn; that is, all the air is drawn out of the cup, causing the cup to suck on the skin.
The plastic cup is then removed from the skin and tiny scratches or pricks are made in the skin. The cup is then placed back on the skin and vacuum is drawn again after which some blood is released. This treatment can be performed several times and in different places, and brings healing against all kinds of ailments.
Dry cupping (hijama)
This is essentially the same as wet cupping (hijama). Here too, the 'cups' are placed on the skin and vacuum is drawn, the big difference is that with this method no pricks or scratches are made in the skin and therefore no blood is released. east and is also very effective.

After a cupping treatment, a red or purple round may be visible locally. This is a normal phenomenon and will disappear after a week.
Several sessions may be required to benefit from the treatment. Although pain relief is usually immediately noticeable
